Piamenta: Rock 'n Roll Rabbis

These things converge. Last Thursday Life of Rubin posted about the upcoming Piamenta album. I had heard of Piamenta, but didn't really have a sense of who they were. Now, I run across this video and get the idea. As I've said before, the classic rock sound isn't my thing, but these guys do it well. You can get more info from their website (including their discography) and their MySpace page.

According to this B'nai Brith Canada article, the 'Rock 'n Roll Rabbi's' documentary was developed by Toronto filmmaker Ilan Saragosti and "follow[s] seven subjects as they negotiate between the somewhat conflicting worlds of Torah and rock ‘n’ roll." I'm not sure if the documentary is complete, but it looks like a cool project.

Hi Sparks. I hadn't seen the new video. Thanks for the link. I don't know how to buy this song or his previous song, Iron like a Lion. As far as I'm aware, they're not available in any media other than the videos. I just emailed Jewda Maccabi and asked. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I just heard back from Jewda Maccabi. He said his album is due out soon and will have 13 tracks. I'll post an announcement as soon as I hear its out.
