Jeff Klepper - Shalom Rav
To get us ready for Shabbat I thought I'd share cantor and song-leader Jeff Klepper performing Shalom Rav. This song, co-written back in 1974 with Dan Freelander, is amazingly popular in the song-leader community and has has been covered many times. According to Klepper's bio, "He was one of the first cantors to champion congregational singing and to use a guitar in Jewish worship. For his role in creating a contemporary Jewish musical style he has been hailed as a “pioneer,” one of a handful of people responsible for literally changing the sound of American synagogue music." Klepper has a nice website and a new blog. He also maintains a site called "Kol B'Seder" with Dan Freelander. All well worth checking out.
